Arlington is really two different neighborhoods when it comes to garage doors. The Bridge That Built Arlington

Arlington’s history goes back further than almost anywhere in the country. In 1564, French settlers built Fort Caroline on the St. Johns River at Arlington’s northern edge, and Fort Caroline National Memorial still marks the area. For centuries after that, though, Arlington stayed rural, and getting there from downtown usually meant a ferry ride. That changed in April 1953, when the Mathews Bridge opened across the river. Subdivisions went up almost overnight, and Arlington became the fastest growing part of Jacksonville through the 1950s and 1960s. Most of the ranch homes and garages we work on in Arlington today date back to that boom.
