I’m Jeff, the owner of Action Garage Door. We’ve been taking care of garage doors for Jacksonville families since 1999, and after all these years the thing I care about most is still the same. I want my word to mean something. When we tell you we’ll be there, we’re there. When we tell you it’s fixed, it’s fixed. That’s the whole company in one sentence.
How it all started
I didn’t come up in garage doors. My background was restaurants, sales, and service, and I owned a blind and shutter business. One of my salespeople had come out of the garage door world, and over a few years we kept talking about it until we finally decided to partner up and open a garage door company.
I learned this trade from the ground up. I leaned on the one thing I already knew cold, how to take care of a customer, and I built everything else on top of that. My partner didn’t stay long before he moved on to something else, and suddenly it was all on me to make it work. So I made a decision. I handed off the blind and shutter business and went all in on Action Garage Door, and I’ve never looked back.
What “family owned” really means to me
A lot of companies say family owned. Here’s what it actually means to me. My family always has my back.
My oldest son works alongside me now. He’s learning every side of this business the same way I did, from the ground up, some hands-on tech work and a lot of the behind-the-scenes pieces like marketing and inventory. My youngest son isn’t in the business day to day, but he’s got a sharp head for it and is always helping us find ways to get better. And my wife is the backbone of our whole family, the one who quietly keeps all of us running. Chief, our newest addition, is the face you’ll probably catch on our social media.
The people who work here who aren’t blood are family to us too. The same crew that answers your call is the crew that shows up at your door. We take care of each other, and that’s exactly how we take care of you.

This is the part I’m proudest of, and it’s the part most companies skip.
We don’t take shortcuts. Ever. And I have always made things right, no matter the profit margin or the lack of one. My goal from day one has been the best customer experience I can possibly deliver, and we prove it in the small things. When we finish a job, we blow out your garage so it’s cleaner than we found it. We wipe the dirty handprints off the wall around your door button. Little things, sure. But they’re the things other companies never bother to do, and they tell you everything about how we work when no one’s watching.
